Glad you liked it, Hanna. I felt the same way about yours. Like you mentioned to Hyun Woo, its fascinating how our story concepts intersected. I guess we go for the same sort of vibes!
Thank you! And re: the brutality ... somehow, it was only when Taurin picked up the severed head by its hair that I realized that this was a darker story then I had initially imagined. 🫠
Oh, I know that feeling! My mother asked if the shark story was going to keep her up at night, so I went to look for something nicer in my archive, and...it turns out that there is maybe one post that I'd qualify as "light" or "happy". I really thought I was doing better than this, haha.
Actually, when I first explained the plot of my serial to my husband, he had to stop me at "Nazi medical experiments" so that I could realize what I'd done. 🙃
Okay, your piece was action packed but what got me the most was the feeling in all the characters involved particularly the pursuers and that chilling ending was a nice one too.
Ha! I l am amused by your random guess on the time zones. I really enjoyed reading this. The ironic twist of a fantasy knight's tale was very well done.
Haha, good. By "random guess" I mean I looked it up, but I couldn't resist giving you a little shoutout, Hyun Kim. Glad you enjoyed it; I enjoyed yours as well.
I know i'm late to the party, but this piece was fantastic. Absolute action from start to finish. You struck a perfect balance between good scenic and gory descrption, fast-paced action, and character motivation. That little memory right in the middle - where he recalled his father's dissapointment - felt perfectly timed. A blazingly good read.
I like how Taurin's character evokes sympathy and disgust at the same time! Very conflicting... :)
Thank you! I was worried about that balance, so your comment comes as a relief. Thanks for reading!
I loved this. Very powerful imagery the whole way through.

Great story. Clean prose and great pacing. Heart pounding action with just the right amount of exposition and world building. What's not to love?
Such high praise! Thank you, Maximilian. I'm both proud and humbled. 🤝
That reversal at the end...brutal, but fitting. So very good.
