Excellent! Loved the way you introduced Martin Wilmarsh and the enigmatic soldier with him. Also, in the fighting scene, I liked the way you handled how Simeot reacted to the arrow. I didn't expect that.
I came across this the other day, and I have to say, this is some of the best fantasy I've read in awhile. I'll definitely make sure to follow this series
Ahh some interesting developments in the journey of our cursed hero. Also in the world he inhabits (I believe this is the first non-hero entity we’ve encountered?). Super well done.
Do you mean non-human? In which case yes and no. There was that dread-shade ghost in the opening of Recompense and Coin (episode 3), but this is the first time that monsters were so central to the plot.
A fellow of mine back in Uni joined a few archaeological digs as a "voluntary shovelist". He was lucky enough to have visited a tomb of the Sarmatian variety :D
You double copied this part: From the dawn when Simeot rides out to get help, to the "It occurred to him that he might understand far less about these people than he had previously thought.

I love the moral of the story!
Thanks, Maia!
Absolutely fantastic.
Thanks, Parrish!
A gripping tale! Thanks!

What a compliment! Thanks, Dylan

Oh yes yes — I remember now.
Had they killed his horse, he would've found the one who did. Gut him dead. Then lay the body under his horse's head as he buried him.
I don’t think you’re wrong about that 😅

Thanks for the catch! Appreciate it.
